A 2 storey L shaped building is carefully placed in a back yard to create a share house with elevated river views and outdoor living among the existing trees.

All rooms pick up the north east sun, and a stair library stores a lifetime of books.
Recycled timber joinery and low toxin finishes are used throughout.
Playful timber screens shade the outdoor room and emulate the textured outline of trees.
Pears can be plucked from the deck, and the shower and bath get sneaky mountain views.

Great patience and persistence from the owner managed to get a green planted driveway through council.
Rock walls, pergolas, screens, and shelves provide opportunities for hundreds of plants to take over the house.
